About the trip

This trip was on the French government supply ship M/S Marion Dufrey round trip from the French Island Reunion in the Southern Indian Ocean to Crozet, Kerguelen, and Amsterdam Islands with a final stop in Mauritius Island (British). There were no piers in Crozet, Kerguelen and Amsterdam so we were ferried by helicopter from the ship. This was a once in a lifetime trip as there were only 20 tourist passengers accommodations and the ship made only 2-3 trips per year. The French government has research stations on the 3 islands. It was like being in the middle of no where.
